Fredrick
Eugene Smith

Fredrick
was the son of William Edward and Isabella (Brooks) Smith. He was born in Brompton
Falls, Quebec, Canada in 1868. Fredrick was a station agent for the railroad
in Groton, VT.
He married 11/10/1891 Ida Mae Clark, daughter of Manley M. and Ellen (Donaldson) Clark.
He removed to Presque Isle, Maine where he owned a potato farm and was a
telegraph operator for the railroad. He married Annie Ireland June 21,
1897. Ida Mae Clark was born in Groton, Caledonia
Co., Vt. 3/5/1869 and died there 10/12/1926. She is buried in the Groton Village
Cemetery, Groton, Vt.
For a short time, she was in the
undertaking business with her father and took over the business when he died.
She divorced Fredrick and later
married Almon N. Clark in 1912. |

H. Hooper, II was the son of Samuel R. and Margaret E. (Hooper) Hooper. He married
4/16/1859 Isabella Welch, daughter of Stephen and Isabel (Page) Welch. He was
born in Groton, Caledonia Co., Vt. 5/16/1831 and died there 10/1/1883. He is buried
in the Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, Vt. Isabella was born in Groton, Caledonia Co., Vt. 1/10/1841 and died
there 3/29/1924. She is buried in the Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, Vt.

Welch Hooper was the son of Jacob and Isabella (Welch) Hooper. He married 12/12/1893
Elizabeth Victoria Dennis, daughter of Hiram W. and Mary L. (Lampro) Dennis.
He was born in Groton, Caledonia Co., Vt. 7/5/1861 and died there 11/22/1927. He is
buried in the Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, Vt. Elizabeth was born in Canada (probably Quebec)
3/8/1879 and died in Groton, Caledonia Co., Vt. 12/9/1954. She is buried in the
Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, Vt.
She divorced Stephen and later

Gerald Ernest Smith was the son of Fredrick and Ida Mae (Clark) Smith.
He was born in Groton, Caledonia Co., Vt. on 3/19/1894 and died in Southington, Ct.
7/7/1959. He is buried in the Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, Vt. Gerald was
a store owner and machinist at Pratt & Whitney Manufacturing Co. He married
7/17/1922 Gladys Mabelle Hooper, daughter of Stephen W. and Elizabeth V. (Dennis)
Hooper. Gladys was born
in Barnet, Caledonia Co. Vt. 2/23/1904 and died in Southington, Ct. 9/21/1995.
Gladys was a store owner and time keeper for Pratt & Whitney Manufacturing Co.
She is buried in the Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, Vt. |
