Banana Bread

 

Serves: 16

 

 

1½ cups of flour                                               

½ cup sugar                                                  

2 teaspoons baking powder                                      

1 teaspoon of baking soda                                         

½ teaspoon salt                                              

½ cup wheat germ                                             

3 bananas - mashed                                              

¼ cup buttermilk                                             

¼ cup vegetable oil                                          

4 egg whites or egg substitute                                 

 

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Mix in the wheat germ.

 

Add all remaining ingredients and beat until well blended.

 

Place in an oiled 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.

 

Bake at 350º for about 1 hour.
