Melting Pot Beans

 

Serves: 6

Recipe from Better Holmes & Gardens

 

½ cup onions - chopped                                       

½ cup green bell peppers - chopped                           

½ pound fake burger                                          

2 teaspoons chili powder                                       

1 16-ounce can baked beans                                     

3 cups elbow macaroni - cooked                                  

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese                                    

½ cup milk                                                   

½ teaspoon salt                                              

 

In saucepan, cook onion and green pepper with chili until tender (using shortening if necessary).  Add beans, fake burger, macaroni, cheese, milk, and salt.  Pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole.

 

Bake at 400º for 30 minutes or until hot; stir.  Garnish with green pepper rings if desired.
