Rice Pudding

 

Serves: 6

 

 

6 cups milk 2%                                                 

¾ cup sugar                                                  

½ cup white rice uncooked                                    

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract                                     

 

Put all ingredients except vanilla in a heavy-bottomed pot and cook just under a simmer for about an hour stirring occasionally.  Add vanilla and stir; cook another 15 to 20 minutes, until the pudding reaches the desired consistency.  Transfer pudding to a serving dish, and sprinkle with ground nutmeg and cinnamon before chilling.
