Thank you to all that have taken the Social Events and Entertainment Survey. This document will summarize the results. 336 invitations were sent out and 134 of you responded.
Q1. What band would you like to bring back to Lake Hayward?
Turkey Foot, Red Head and Latitude were the top 3 bands and we will try to bring them back in 2016. Many of you suggested other bands and an additional survey will be sent out to get your votes on those. The top vote getters will be asked to play for us in 2016.
Q2. What food truck would you like to bring back to Lake Hayward?
Brick & Basil Wood Fired Pizza was top choice doubling votes of the 2nd place finisher GottaQ-BBQ, Kickin' Chicken and Munchies. Brick & Basil will be asked to come back to the lake for sure.
Q3. What is your favorite music genre?
Classic Rock was top choice followed by Country. We will look for a country band for next year. Other suggestions were Big Band, Oldies, and Jazz.
Q4. What other type of food truck would you like to see at a band and food event?
The top choice was Mexican followed by BBQ, Grilled Cheese and Asian. Other suggestions included Pot Luck, Vegetarian and Healthy Options. We will try to satisfy your requests.
Q5. What food event would you like to see other than a Food Truck?
Top answer was Clam Bake followed by Pig Roast and BBQ. Other suggestions included Pot Luck, Vegetarian and Healthy Options, Chili cook off and a breakfast event.
Q6. Vendor may require a headcount which would require selling of tickets in advance. Would you be willing to purchase tickets for this type of event?
83% of you said YES.
Q7. Would you attend a band/food event in the afternoon?
68% of you said YES.
Q8. How often should we have a band/food event during July and August?
Every Other Weekend was the top answer.
Q9. Would you like to see a band/food event in the off season (May, June, September, October)?
June and September were the two top vote getters.
Q10. Would you like to see an event scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend?
68% of you said YES.
Q11. Would you like to see an event scheduled on Sunday July 3, 2016?
72% of you said YES.
Q12. Would you like to see an event scheduled over Labor Day Weekend?
75% of you said YES.
Q13. What is the best time for Food Trucks to begin selling food?
45% said 5:00 PM followed by 37% saying 6:00 PM. Maybe 5:30 PM is the right time.
Q14. What is the best time for a Band to start Playing?
The top choice with 62% of the vote was 7:00 PM. Several comments suggested bands not go past 10:00 PM.
Q15. Rank the type of music events you would like to have at the pavilion?
The results were Band (91%), DJ and then Karaoke.
Q16. What day of the week would you most likely attend a Band Event?
Saturday (80%) was the top vote getter with Friday (68%) a close second.
Q17. Which other events would you like to see scheduled for next year?
The top "Must Have" were Arts and Crafts, Ladies Night, Chocolate Bingo, Kiddie Bingo, Ice Cream Social, Night at the races, Cake Walk, Kids Camp Out on the Beach and Boat Parade.
Q18. Would you like to see events at the ball field or at other beaches?
Many suggestions were received including having a tag sale, softball games, kickball games, volleyball, crafts fair, kite flying, canoeing/kayaking in the evening, educational events, boater safety workshop, picnic, beach vs. beach games and tennis.
Q19. What other comments, suggestions or ideas do you have for the Social & Recreation committee>?
Many responded with kudos and we appreciate that very much. Others suggested cocktail hour and a Hospitality event to welcome new owners to the lake, getting the calendar out early and not including it in the newsletter, talent show, and adult crafts just to mention a few.
Again, I thank you all for taking time to complete the survey. It will definitely help us plan for next years' events and focus on what you want to see. As mentioned above, we will be sending out another survey to help zone in on bands and will be asking for sponsors for events.
